The Child stands silent
and his dream moves in the wind.
In contemporary Iranian society according to the standards the media has turned children into its subject, and in order to satisfy the suppressed complex of the masses, it provides children images in place of adult images, the same people to whom children will grow to resemble. The society celebrate the mixture of the child and adult, and very often place the child on display in the form of adults who are limited from being displayed in that context. Nine years ago in Tehran, children told me in their own words how they feel about the images of children from past, that belongs to Qajar Era (1848-1896) in Iran. The written text next to the image is the handwriting of 9 year old kids regarding the historical images of children in 19th century, when the kid was just a kid.
